We are a community based, voluntary managed Preschool which depends on parents/carers and their involvement to operate and function.

The overall management and control of the Preschool rests with the individual members of the management committee. As well as being responsible for the management of the Preschool the committee members are also the charity trustees of the Preschool.

There are a minimum of five committee members and a maximum of twelve, together with up to a further three co-opted members. The Committee consists of a Chair, a Treasurer and a Secretary known as “the Officers”, with no less than two and no more than nine other elected members. All Committee members step-down each year when new members are elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

No Committee really does mean No Preschool!

The role of the Committee is to be responsible for the strategic planning of the Preschool, including meeting current legislation, employment, finances and fundraising and ensuring our Preschool is running according to our constitutions aims and objective. The Management Committee hold regular meetings 3-4 months a year to discuss and review these topics. The Council provide free training courses to help people when they first join the Committee.

Fundraising meetings are also held on a regular basis 2-3 times a year to discuss fresh new ideas and plan events in our fundraising calendar. The Preschool hold some very popular events around Easter and Christmas in the Bradford Abbas village hall which are extremely well organised and great family fun.

We are always looking for volunteers to help out during these events, if you would like to help us please contact a member of the team.
